Nick Brass is a filmmaker and screenwriter whose beginnings in creative writing gradually developed into a passion for film that has persisted ever since. In his time at Columbia College Chicago, Nick worked on a variety of projects, such as the thesis productions Is She A Slut? and What A Witch, as a production hand and writing consultant. These experiences, alongside writing his own thesis film, Side Affects, taught him the essentials of storytelling and of balancing humor and tragedy in a script.
Although Side Affects is a more intense and grounded film than Nick’s previous creative outings, regardless of the mood he always tries to see the funny side of things. Simultaneously making others laugh while tackling darker, timely topics has ultimately been the most important aspect to his work.
